I was kind of hoping to have my Barracuda back from the shop by now, but as of Tuesday (Oct 13) they still hadn't started working on it. In fact, they still hadn't even moved it to their new shop (they moved on Oct 1). Now I just hope I get it back to get the bugs worked out before my wife returns from her trip to China.
I was able to get some things done on the Valiant. Since it hasn't been running, it's sort of morphed into a long term storage container for whatever crap I wasn't using but couldn't bear to throw away. I got almost all the crap thrown out today, I can actually sit in it again! The only stuff left is a lot of Slant Six parts and some Six Pak stuff I was buying for the Barracuda when I was going to run a 360. Hell, now I'm even hopeful to get it running before my wife leaves for China on the 29th. It would be pretty funny if the Valiant was running before the Barracuda.
I've been thinking a lot lately about a project car. I've been wanting one for a long time. Once I get the Barracuda back I'm going to try to come up with a quick $2500 but I'm not sure what to get. Some of the early A Bodies are still available pretty cheap, but I already have two of them. A '73 or '74 Dodge Crestwood station wagon would be really sweet, but a decent one would be more like $4000 or $5000. Maybe instead of getting another car I'll just start out by rebuilding the 273 from my Barracuda - assuming it's rebuildable.
